Behavioral Health Team (BHT)

What is a BHT?

The Behavioral Health Team (BHT) is a school-based group of behavioral health staff that addresses the needs of students struggling with a variety of Mental Health issues that are impacting their quality of life and academic performance. 

What Happens When a Student is Referred?

When students are referred to the BHT both the student and Parents but give consent to work with one of our BHT team members or Groups and they begin:
  • The screening protocols to match students to appropriate intervention(s)
  • To receive Multi-tiered system of supports
  • Build on their capacity and address needs of the individual student
  • Collaborate with school personnel and community-based organizations to provide and/or coordinate services and form a web of support

Who is Typically Referred?

Some examples of groups and one on one counseling we offer but not limited to are:
  • Anger Management
  • Students who have been exposed to Trauma
  • Identity 
  • Healthy relationships
  • Students at risk for behavioral health problems such as:
    • Symptoms of depression or anxiety
    • Substance use / abuse
    • Peer Conflict
    • Family issues
